Private Accounts & Friends-Only Posts
instadnl operates strictly on publicly accessible Instagram links. It cannot authenticate with private accounts, view followers-only videos, or bypass privacy settings configured by the creator.
Deleted or Removed Content
If a creator deletes their video, or if Instagram removes content for community guidelines violations, the file is no longer available on Instagram CDN servers and cannot be extracted.
Region-Restricted & Geo-Blocked Posts
Videos that are restricted to specific geographic territories due to local laws or music licensing disputes may fail to resolve if the CDN blocks retrieval.
Pre-Edited Hardcoded Watermarks
Our engine removes the watermark overlays and creator handle tags and author end-card applied by the platform. However, if a creator edited a custom watermark or logo into the video frames using external software (CapCut, Premiere, etc.) prior to uploading, those pixels are permanently part of the footage.
No Digital Rights Management (DRM) Bypass
instadnl does not decrypt, circumvent, or tamper with digital rights management (DRM) or proprietary encryption mechanisms.
Original Source Resolution Bounds
instadnl never artificially upscales lower-resolution videos. The maximum attainable resolution is bounded by the original file uploaded by the creator (typically 1080p Full HD or 720p HD).
